WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama's decision to issue an executive order granting legal status to millions of undocumented immigrants is an affront to the constitutional power of Congress, Rep. Trey Gowdy, a moderate Republican voice on immigration, said Thursday.
Furious GOP lawmakers are considering various legal and legislative tactics to stop Obama's executive action. Gowdy endorsed them all and said Congress also should retaliate by refusing to confirm the president's nominees.
